Grants from EU funds are the most popular form of support for entrepreneurship development.
The source of grant funding is the European Regional Development Fund. Each of the regions in Poland has prepared a so-called Regional Operational Programme, taking into account its needs, and also its strengths and weaknesses. In each of the programs were included priorities that aim to support the development of micro, small and medium enterprises.
EU grants are intended primarily to finance investments related to the development of their business (production and / or service). Therefore they can be used to purchase new manufacturing equipment, new technologies, to build a production area, to cooperate with R&D and implementation of research results to the economy, as well as participation in trade fairs and economic missions. Investments associated with the use of grants should contribute to job creation, implementation of new products or services and strengthen the capacity of firms by increasing their innovation and competitiveness. Using the grant (eg, through technology credit) one can realize even very specific and individual needs of the company by designing and implementing their own production lines.
Depending on the region and the fund grant may reach:
- For micro-enterprises around 50-60%,
- For small businesses approximately 40-50% ,
- For medium-sized businesses around 30-40% ,
- Co-financing under the technological loan approximately 40-70%.
